Cornish Flowers & Tartan Inspired Wedding Reception Stationery

Today I'm delighted to share with your the reception stationery I created for the lovely Olivia and Jonathan who got married on the 1st August at the gorgeous Boconnoc House in Cornwall.
The brief was for a classic elegant design incorporating elements of wild flowers and the groom's tartan and reflecting the Cornish landscape where they were getting married.
The couple also wanted a drawing of the church at Boconnoc incorporating into the Order of Service so I hand drew this element for them and added it to a set of matching stationery.

As well as the order of service there were matching table names, named after places in Cornwall, blank placecards for the couple to write their guest names on, menus and a table plan board.

I hope you like the design and if you would like to get in touch with me to design something similar for your wedding please don't hesitate to drop me an email to info@knotsandkisses.co.uk or have a look on the bespoke page of my website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk

Botanical Wedding Reception Stationery & Room Hangers

Gosh another week rolls by! I still can't believe its October but it does finally feel like autumn .. which, although I love summer, does make me happy as I also love snuggling up in front of the fire and wearing lots of cosy layers! It also means I spent some of the weekend making my Christmas Cakes for this year and making big pots of stew to freeze.

Anyway .. enough about me! ... Today I wanted to quickly share with you the lovely reception stationery I made for Abi and Craig who got married last weekend in Devon.
Abi & Craig's bespoke design was the original inspiration behind my new 'Victorian Garden' range of wedding stationery http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/victoriangardenweddingstationery.html so it was lovely to work with them again on their reception stationery.
As well as some standard items ... placecard tags and order of service .. they also wanted some bespoke room hangers making up in the same style to put on the doors of all the rooms in their venue for the guests who were staying with them.
I always love making bespoke extras for people so was happy to oblige :)

They also had a matching table plan which I rearranged into a landscape format to suit their room layout ...

I loved creating their stationery and I hope Abi & Craig, that you had a wonderful day on Saturday!

Pale Green Tree Themed Reception Stationery

Welcome to a new week! This week at Knots & Kisses its seriously back to work with a vengeance. Although I was back off holiday last week I did manage to take a day off to spend with my family on a steam train in South Devon .. and I went down to Surrey for the weekend to see friends ... so its sort of felt like I was still on my hols.
I'm definitely back this week though and, as well as stationery orders to make, I'm in full swing preparing for the new ranges website updates in Autumn ( more to come later in the week.)

Today though I want to share with you some reception stationery I designed recently with a tree and leaf theme. Based around my sketch range of wedding stationery http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/sketchcollection.html but with a powder green colour scheme and sketches of different leaves on each table name.

Pretty & Rustic Wedding Reception Stationery

Well autumn is definitely here isn't it! Fortunately the rain didn't hamper plans here at Knots & Kisses HQ this weekend as we spent most of the weekend on the computers doing design work on the new website update and new stationery ranges for October.
I had several brides getting married at the weekend though so I'm really hoping that the rain didn't dampen their days and a lovely time was had by all.

Speaking of this weeks weddings .. today I wanted to share with you the reception stationery I created for a lovely couple who were getting married in the Cotswolds on Friday.
I previously shared with you their invitations which I was commissioned to create by the lovely Rachel, The Cotswold Wedding Planner.
Rachel also wanted me to create some very special and unique stationery to match for the big day itself, to fit in with their pretty but rustic theme with a subtle wood print.
Here is a photo of the Order of Service, Escort cards and Guestbook I created.

One of the main items I designed was a unique Guestbook. Not only was this to be a guestbook where guests could fill in the answers to some questions about the big day and their advice for the couple, but also a Scrapbook of the day .. to include their Design Brief, copies of their stationery, samples of fabrics used and messages from the children.
In this way they have all of the memories of their wedding ( minus the photos of course ) in one place to look back on.
Here are some of the designs for the inside pages of the Guestbook ...

I also created some large A1 Posters to display on the entrance to the venue for the day ... here is the poster detailing the Bridal Party ...

Hopefully I'll have lots more photos to share with you of this wedding stationery from the official photos on the day ... I can't wait to see how it all looked in situe!

Classic Reception Stationery With Sketches of The Wedding Venue

Hello all ... I hope you all had a good weekend .. it was a jam packed one for me finishing an order of reception stationery.
Talking about reception stationery ... I'd like to share with you today the reception stationery I designed to match invitations I created for Evelyn & Simon earlier in the year.
The brief was for the stationery to be classic and neutral and to incorporate a sketch of their beautiful lakeside wedding venue in Ireland.

Here is the stationery I designed including placecards and table names .. and also a header and table plan cards which they could pin to a board or display themselves rather than having a large set table plan board.

As I mentioned the stationery was designed to match a invitation set I designed for the couple earlier in the year which I've shown below. If you would like a similar design for your wedding, including a bespoke sketch of your venue by me, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the contact page on the website at http://knotsandkisses.co.uk

And here's a wedding moodboard to match ...

English Country Garden Suitcase Table Plans

Back at the end of April I was contacted by the lovely Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper http://littleweddinghelper.co.uk/ who does the most amazing wedding styling .. great for couples who have a blank canvas wedding venue and just don't know where to start!

Kirsten was working with a couple who wanted to create a Vintage English Country Garden feel for their .. quite frankly ... enormous wedding in Southampton!
They loved the idea of a 'suitcase table plan' and so Kirsten asked me to get involved to create the plans for them.

I was very excited as anyone who as seen my house knows I have a bit of obsession about vintage luggage! There are currently two small cases stacked and acting as a side table in my lounge and a very large steamer trunk for bed linen in my guest room :)
So I happily sourced the Internet and local antique shops for some gorgeous cases I could use to make the table plan and then picked some pretty pink and green floral and striped contrasting fabrics to reline the insides with.
I finished the look by hanging alternately designed card tables from lace strung across the cases and attached them with little white pegs.

They needed 3 suitcases for all the tables rather than just one, so once I had produced the plans Kirsten styled them at the venue .. setting them up on different levels and adding flowers and pearls to create just the right feeling!

I am delighted to announce that I will be adding the Suitcase Table Plans to my regular ranges on my website very soon!
They will be available on a hire basis and if you are within 20 miles of Okehampton I will happily come and set them up at your venue for you ... or they will be available to pick up. If you are elsewhere in the country they can also be posted for a fee and will need to be returned via post by yourselves once used.
They can of course be re-lined and designed to suit your individual colour scheme or theme ... so if you would like to enquire about hiring one of the suitcase table plans for your wedding please don't hesitate to get in touch, either via the contact form on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk or by emailing me direct at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk

What Stationery To Order For Your Wedding Reception

What To Order For Your Reception & Wedding Day?

I’m asked by a lot of couples these days .. many of whom are on a tight budget … where they could make savings with their reception stationery and what is essential.
So here are my tips for what to include on your stationery order…

1.Order of Service

I think these days Order of Service and whether you need them can be very dependent on your point of view and what type of wedding you are having.

A church wedding is almost certainly going to require some form of order of service. This can range from a brief layout of the service with pages to refer to in Hymn and Prayer books, to a full order of service where the hymns and prayers and any wording the congregation needs to say detailed.

To save money I would definitely consider just have 1 Order of Service for 2 people to share and this will half your costs automatically!

If you aren’t having a Church or Religious ceremony, it may be an option to dispense with an Order of Service, or alternatively have a very simple ‘Order of Day’ card which gives your guests an idea of what they can expect throughout the day.

2. Menus

I have plenty of Brides who like to have one menu per person at their wedding .. using the menu as part of a place setting for each guest. However if you are on a budget perhaps it’s worth considering just one menu per table. Alternatively have a menu poster or board framed at the entrance to your reception, or incorporated into the table plan, for your guests to look at as they come in.

3. Placecards

I have to say I think this is the one thing you can’t dispense with for most weddings. Although I have been to a few weddings where the couple have wanted all their guests to mingle and therefore no-one has been given a specific place to sit, most Brides & Grooms will want to make sure certain people are sat on certain tables and placecards are a must.

4. Table Plan

As above, if you do want your guests to sit in a specific place, a table plan is a must.

I offer several options to couples, from fully mounted and even framed table plans, to a rolled poster which they can display as they wish, and even just the artwork … to really suit any budget.
I'm also going to be offering Suitcase style table plans to hire very soon aswell!

Often a flat printed table plan will be cheaper than one which is heavily embellished to match your stationery .. although check beforehand as this may not always be the case as printing costs are high compared to the cost of layered card.

A Fabulous Weekend at The Wedding Festival!

Hope you've all had a fantastic weekend! I have to say I'm pretty exhausted but had a brilliant time at the first 'Fabulous Wedding Festival' hosted at Muddifords Court in Devon on Saturday.
I met some fantastic couples looking for wedding stationery and also some other lovely suppliers which made for a fantastic day even though the weather really didn't play ball! There were quite a few of us who were huddled around the fire pit in the Tipi tent later on in the afternoon :)

My fantastic other half was helping me out on the day and went round and took as many photos as possible so I could share with you.
Even without blue skies the festival site looked fantastically colourful with the banners, big top tent and the tipi tent sent up ...

I had my stand set up in the Tipi tent, supplied by World Inspired Tents, managing to get a spot right next to the fire, which was lovely later! Thanks to the lovely Julie at The Flower Consultant in Okehampton www.flowerconsultant.co.uk for the gorgeous jug of flowers she provided for my stand.

I also provided stationery for the Shippen Barn, which was laid out with tables dressed ready for a wedding reception and later hosted a sit down 3 course meal.
The tables looked fantastic ... especially as each stylist had gone for such a different theme! I designed stationery for the 'Colourful Kitsch' & 'Romantic Blue' Tables by Devon Vintage China www.devonvintagechina.co.uk below ...

And also for the 'Kama' Bollywood Inspired Table by Jolly Good Wedding www.jollygoodwedding.com ...

The barn also had some amazing styled tables from Inspire Hire http://www.inspire-hire.co.uk/ .. creating a gorgeous Cherry theme and A Mad Hatters Dinner Party Table, and a stunning Bohemian Dreaming table from Jessie Thomson www.jessiethomson.co.uk with some fantastic homemade dream catchers!

I also made the table plan for the Banquet area which we mounted onto an old barn door.

I'll be sharing even more photos and some of the great suppliers who were exhibiting with me in the Tipi tent on tomorrow's blog so make sure you check back!
A massive thank you to Becky and Helen from Fabulous Wedding Festival for organising such a great event!
