Hello! My name is Nikki Ward and I am the owner and designer behind the Knots And Kisses blog and Knots & Kisses Wedding Stationery.
I started Knots And Kisses in 2009 after finally tiring of the rat race, my Essex to London commute and my constant battle to get in to work whilst suffering from very bad IBS.
Starting my own business had always been a life long dream and designing wedding stationery had always been a passion since working on a design concept and matching stationery for my sister's wedding in 2005.
After that I worked on several colleagues and friends wedding stationery before taking the plunge after producing a set of Art Deco wedding stationery for my lovely friends 'theatre inspired' wedding.
Since then I have built the business up to include not only an expanding range of wedding stationery collections, but also greetings cards and occasion stationery .. which is available to buy directly from my website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk and is also available to retailers on a wholesale basis (just contact info@knotsandkisses.co.uk).
The blog was a natural progression for my creative outlets as, although I know concentrate on stationery, I have always loved putting together moodboards, ideas and wedding schemes for people and this provides me with an outlet to do this and hopefully inspire some brides and grooms along the way with their own wedding planning!
My style is invariably eclectic ... ask my friends and my long-suffering other half and they will tell you I change my design ideas on a ridiculously frequent basis ... but is essentially based in the vintage and retro area.
Design inspiration therefore comes from a variety of places. I studied a degree in Fashion Promotion & Illustration, so inspiration has always come from fabrics, jewellery and fashion history. I also love museums and art galleries and have a particular love of the 1930s and 40s.
I now live, with my constantly supportive other half / part time assistant! Anthony, on the edge of Dartmoor in the town of Okehampton, Devon and love going for walks in the countryside & cooking for as many people as humanely possible!
