Bespoke Apple Green & Herb Wedding Invitations & Wedding Inspiration

I'm very excited today! Not only is it now the start of December and I can start getting officially excited about Christmas .. I've been internally excited for about a month but now's it's December I'm allowed to share! ... but also because I can finally share with you the wedding invitations I designed earlier this year for my really close friends Dannii & Aaron who are getting married next March!

The brief was elegant with a splash of green and in consultation with them we decided on a textured cream pocketfold design which incorporated the monogram badge which I had used on their Save the Date cards last year.
I also incorporated the sketch I had done of their venue ... the gorgeous Ravenswood in Sussex .. and a herb motif which will run through the stationery.

The picture above shows the front of the pocketfold day invitations at the top and the co-ordinating evening invitations below which were wrapped in a matching apple green and herb print band.
The inside of the pocketfold invitation which included an information card and a rsvp postcard is shown below.

I loved working on these invitations and, as I'm a bridesmaid at the wedding as well, I'm super excited for next March and to work on the reception stationery items to match.
I've created a moodboard below based on the apple green and cream colour scheme and with a bit of a herb theme ... so if you are looking for something similar for your wedding hopefully this will give you inspiration.

Rustic Lemon & Cream Wedding Invitations & Inspiration

Welcome to a new week on the Knots & Kisses blog!
I hope you all had a wonderfully sunny week ... I know we did down here in Devon .. it was glorious!

Today I want to share with you some pretty rustic stationery which I created for one of my clients last month.
Jilly wanted a rustic look and, as a gardener, wanted to incorporate the flowers she is using .. carnations and grasses. After a bespoke consultation at my home we decided on a layered style similar to my sketch range but in a tall format. Here are the designs I came up with ...

Radiant Orchid, Lavender & Mauve Wedding Inspiration

Its been a busy old week here at Knots & Kisses. After launching my new Valentines Collection on Monday I've already received several orders ... the most popular definitely seems to be the Pink 'Love You Deer' card http://knotsandkisses.co.uk/greetingscards.html
I've also been working on the 3 new wedding stationery designs for my Spring Collection which will be launching next month ... and there is a definite Spring feel to them .. with some lovely florals, pastel colours and a splash of classic blue and white. I can't wait to share them with you!

This year Pantone has declared the colour of the year as Pantone Radiant Orchid ... and so one of my new designs is definitely featuring some gorgeous lavender and mauve colours. So this week I've also been obsessing over the details of this wedding which was featured on the www.weddingchicks.com website ...

I'm also loving the idea of 'Orchid' coloured wedding food! ...

Wizard of Oz Themed Wedding Stationery!

I hope you all caught the blog on Wednesday where I shared the first of the three shoots I was involved with for the So Sassi Brand of Wedding Dresses, organised by the lovely Love Me Love My Wedding Blog. I got some great feedback from the lilac 'Rapunzel' Themed stationery.

Today I'm delighted to share the second of these shoots .. which was based on a Wizard of Oz theme.
Definitely more the new 'Oz' movie rather than the old Judy Garland version ... I think the shoot captured a fun but dark quality and the styling by Jessie Thomson and the make up was amazing!

I loved creating stationery for this theme and kept it a little bit rustic and woodland with the use of brown manila card as well as bright colours and wizard of oz motifs.

Bicycles in Blue - Wedding Reception Stationery & Styling

Good morning all! Welcome to a new week here at Knots & Kisses.
Its starting to get to that time of year when I have lots of reception stationery to design and make for lots of lovely couples who ordered invitations off me earlier in the year or last year.

Today I want to share with you the matching reception stationery that I have made for a bespoke version of my Sketch range of invitations which I created for the lovely Laura & Andrew.
Instead of one of the regular motifs I sketched out a tandem bike with a bride and groom on and also changed the background colour to a gorgeous blue.

For styling ideas to match this wedding I created a moodboard in shades of wedgewood blue with rustic elements to match the string and brown kraft details in the stationery.

Weekly Wedding Inspiration - Emerald Green And Lace

The end of another week here at Knots & Kisses, and this week has seen an influx of orders .. so I've got lots of lovely wedding stationery projects lined up for over the summer ... including some Very British Wedding Invitations & Art Deco Bejewelled Pockets. You can see both ranges and order samples on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk

For my weekly Wedding Inspiration I've been seeing lots of gorgeous Emerald Greens around this year .. perhaps its the influence of the new Wizard of Oz movie! I think the colour works really well if you mix it with ivory lace and don't make it too stark with just white ... here's some ideas I've collected this week ...

Weekly Wedding Inspiration & Advice

I hope you've all had a fantastic week ... as usual for the beginning of the year mine has been incredibly busy!
On a serious note this is definitely something you should keep in mind when contacting or trying to book wedding stationers. Most people I speak to assume I'm going to be busy in the summer when most of the weddings take place and, its true, I can be quite busy over the summer with peoples reception stationery orders. However, the really busy time for me .. .and I'm sure most other stationers .. is January and February. Its when most people start thinking about ordering their stationery for weddings that summer and of course there are lots of newly engaged couples from the Christmas & New Year Celebrations :)

On a lighter note I've found some fabulous wedding ideas on the Internet and www.pinterest.com this week and just had to share.
This week I've been drawn to inventive and cost effective ways to decorate your venue or cake table to make it that little bit more special and fun .... I especially love the dessert table below with the toffee apples! ...

Sketch - Lavender & Twine Wedding Reception Stationery

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend! Mine was spent having a bit of a relax at my Mums in Birmingham for her birthday - which was fantastic after such a hectic week!

Some great news over the weekend is that the lovely Want That Wedding blog has featured my new Vintage Travel range of Wedding Stationery and not only that there is also a competition to win 50 Save the Date cards in the range! So please head over to http://www.wantthatwedding.co.uk/2013/01/27/vintage-travel-knots-kisses-wedding-stationery/ for your chance to win!

On to today and I wanted to tell you about some reception stationery I'm currently working on for a lovely client.
As I've mentioned before my Sketch range of Wedding Stationery is really easily adapted to suit any colour scheme or wedding design, and I am often sketching out new motifs which better suit the clients wedding and changing the background colour to suit their colourscheme.

Last year I adapted the design for an English / Scottish theme with a lavender colourscheme.

And this week I'll be working on the reception stationery to match this lavender set of stationery .. including a menu design and order of service.
Here are a few styling ideas if you are also having a rustic lavender theme ...

A Narnia & Secret Garden Inspired Wedding Styled Shoot

Anyone else getting very excited about Christmas!?! Me too!
Anyway back to Weddings! ....

Earlier in the year I had the pleasure of creating some wedding stationery designs for a shoot organised by the lovely Lauren of www.ladyamyweddingdesign.co.uk .
I've worked with Lauren before and was really excited by the theme and moodboard she sent me for the styled shoot she was working on.
The theme was an inspiring blend of Wild Narnia & Secret Garden to create a magical woodland feel for a wedding.

I created a few different items of stationery, including a hessian and decoupage booklet style invitation and some velvet and lace embellished placecard tags, menus and table names. I loved the items I created so much they are going to be the basis for a new range of Wedding Stationery which I will be launching in January! So keep your eyes peeled in the New Year :)
