Beautiful Cotswold Barn Wedding Venue

Many of you will know that I recently took a little bit of a holiday and for the first part of our holiday we headed up to the Cotswolds and stayed in lovely hotel called Fosse Manor on the outskirts of Stow-in-the-Wold.
What I hadn't realised when booking is that this lovely hotel also had an equally lovely attached wedding venue in the form of a Cotswold stone barn.
With my work hat on as always I asked for a brochure and took a sneaky peek inside and really wanted to share with you on the blog :)

Nestling in a tranquil Cotswold landscape, Hyde Barn is a great location to host your wedding and celebrations. http://www.hydebarn.co.uk/
Licensed for civil marriage ceremonies in the elegant ceremony hall, or outdoors under the beautiful arbour, they also provide really great service and, if the meals we had in the hotel restaurant were anything to go by, fantastic catering options!

They say ....

"Whilst we are there to provide as much support, input, advice and guidance as you need, we also recognise the importance of giving you the freedom to do things your way – we are not prescriptive about how you organise and style your wedding event. We welcome up to 150 guests during both the ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 175 guests in the evening which really does give you fantastic flexibility.
Hyde Barn combines traditional Cotswolds architecture with a with a contemporary and elegantly finished interior space. It is the ideal backdrop for expressing your own personality and ideas in the celebration of your wedding. Exceptional accommodation is available at the adjacent Fosse Manor Hotel, where there are 19 delightful, comfortable rooms, together with a spacious bar and quality restaurant facilities."

I'd definitely recommend it if you are looking for a pretty venue in the Cotswolds area ... and it doesn't hurt that the picture perfect Stow on the Wold, with its lovely tea shops, antiques shops and a couple of cracking vintage boutiques is very close by!

Vintage Travel Wedding Stationery And Styling Ideas

Its been so busy here at Knots & Kisses last week I decided to take a little bit of a break from the blog ... only for a few days but I've now definitely back in the zone and wanting to share with you lots of gorgeous wedding products and stationery.
On that note I always love to hear from fellow wedding professionals ... especially small businesses ... and photographers, with gorgeous wedding products that my readers might be interested in or fantastic real weddings which they would like to showcase! Just get in touch at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk :)

Last week I was working on an order of my Vintage Travel range, amongst other things, and as Vintage travel had a little revamp at the same time as the website was updated and I refreshed everything else I though I'd share it with you today.

Vintage Travel has definitely been one of my more popular ranges since launching it. Designed to evoke old postcards, stamps and luggage labels ... it now comes with matching envelope liners in a contrasting map print and address labels. You can also order a full range of matching reception stationery ... including my new guest books ... and, if you're in a hurry or on a tight budget, 'ready to write' invitation packs.

To go with the Vintage Travel range here are some styling ideas for your wedding ...

English Country Garden Suitcase Table Plans

Back at the end of April I was contacted by the lovely Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper http://littleweddinghelper.co.uk/ who does the most amazing wedding styling .. great for couples who have a blank canvas wedding venue and just don't know where to start!

Kirsten was working with a couple who wanted to create a Vintage English Country Garden feel for their .. quite frankly ... enormous wedding in Southampton!
They loved the idea of a 'suitcase table plan' and so Kirsten asked me to get involved to create the plans for them.

I was very excited as anyone who as seen my house knows I have a bit of obsession about vintage luggage! There are currently two small cases stacked and acting as a side table in my lounge and a very large steamer trunk for bed linen in my guest room :)
So I happily sourced the Internet and local antique shops for some gorgeous cases I could use to make the table plan and then picked some pretty pink and green floral and striped contrasting fabrics to reline the insides with.
I finished the look by hanging alternately designed card tables from lace strung across the cases and attached them with little white pegs.

They needed 3 suitcases for all the tables rather than just one, so once I had produced the plans Kirsten styled them at the venue .. setting them up on different levels and adding flowers and pearls to create just the right feeling!

I am delighted to announce that I will be adding the Suitcase Table Plans to my regular ranges on my website very soon!
They will be available on a hire basis and if you are within 20 miles of Okehampton I will happily come and set them up at your venue for you ... or they will be available to pick up. If you are elsewhere in the country they can also be posted for a fee and will need to be returned via post by yourselves once used.
They can of course be re-lined and designed to suit your individual colour scheme or theme ... so if you would like to enquire about hiring one of the suitcase table plans for your wedding please don't hesitate to get in touch, either via the contact form on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk or by emailing me direct at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk

Bespoke Wedding Stationery : Pretty Pink & Green Pocketfolds

I've got some lovely bespoke stationery to share with you today.
I met this lovely couple way back in February 2012 at the Milton Keynes wedding fair .. they liked my Antique Rose range http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/antique%20rose.html ... but prefered a pocketfold style with a splash of a moss green colour and some lace embellisment.

The samples I came up with have a really pretty feel and, although the couple ended up going with the same design but entirely in pale green, I still love this pretty dusky pink pocket, which includes a rsvp postcard and information card.

If you would like me to come up with a similar bespoke design for your wedding .. please get in touch at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk or via the contact form on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk

Here are some styling ideas you could use for your wedding to go with this stationery ...

Jubilee Inspired Wedding Photo Shoot

I've got a fantastic supplier styled shoot to share with you today, continuing on with the Jubilee theme, from a fantastic bunch based up in Manchester. The lovely Clare from http://www.blushrose.co.uk/ , who I met at the Milton Keynes Vintage Wedding Fair in February, contacted me with this fabulous shoot.
Here she is to tell you a little bit more about the day ....

Diamond Jubilee Year and Independent Vintage Businesses Reign.

"Manchester is fast becoming a hotbed of fabulous wedding suppliers of all things vintage. As the fashion for vintage weddings or adding a ‘homemade’ feel to proceedings continues to grow “The Manchester Vintage Collective” came together to harness and show off some of the talent which has developed across the city.

The Collective, a group of small and growing businesses passionate about vintage style, came together initially a year ago when Amedea from Foley Photography contacted Laura, owner of the Airyfairy Cake Boutique. The first venture was a vintage photoshoot for a newly engaged couple, run as a competition with great success. Since then the Collective has grown to incorporate a small range of specialist vintage businesses.

The business owners all came together to create a stunning photoshoot to showcase each of their products, from the dresses designed by Dodie especially for the shoot, to Katie with the fabulous props and styling which added drama and created the ‘look’ through to Jeni with the complimentary and stunning make up.

Inspired by the sketches of the beautiful dresses by Dodie and the brief from Foley Photography; Perfect Days Vintage worked with Vintage Twee to create the overall feel for each era. The business owners worked over one of the busiest weekends of the year to bring the shoot together and beingcoordinated by Amedea of Foley Photography and the help of the stunning Manchester Art Gallery, the result is a set of truly exquisite images from the day, the perfect showcase for any happy couple planning their big day.

With it being Diamond Jubilee year as well as the 2012 Olympics, the shoot was styled on a 1950’s theme. Using Union Jacks and thinking of all things British we took the bright red colour scheme and worked it through the photographs from the flowers to the styling and the cakes and cake pops. The bright colours really stood out in the images which also added a sense of fun and celebration. The subtle use of the Union Jack in the more muted tones gave a nod to the era along with the crown, colour of the dress and the styling of the venue.

The Manchester Vintage Collective will continue to work together on more wedding and vintage related events and as independent Manchester based businesses, the creative owners all work together to fulfill every bride’s (and groom’s!) desires.
