Sketch - Lavender & Twine Wedding Reception Stationery
I hope you've all had a lovely weekend! Mine was spent having a bit of a relax at my Mums in Birmingham for her birthday - which was fantastic after such a hectic week!
Some great news over the weekend is that the lovely Want That Wedding blog has featured my new Vintage Travel range of Wedding Stationery and not only that there is also a competition to win 50 Save the Date cards in the range! So please head over to http://www.wantthatwedding.co.uk/2013/01/27/vintage-travel-knots-kisses-wedding-stationery/ for your chance to win!
On to today and I wanted to tell you about some reception stationery I'm currently working on for a lovely client.
As I've mentioned before my Sketch range of Wedding Stationery is really easily adapted to suit any colour scheme or wedding design, and I am often sketching out new motifs which better suit the clients wedding and changing the background colour to suit their colourscheme.
Last year I adapted the design for an English / Scottish theme with a lavender colourscheme.

Weekly Wedding Inspiration
Hope you've all had a fabulous week! Its been a bit of a mad one here at Knots & Kisses ... two really large orders to finish and post out to lovely clients, and a HUGE amount of new enquiries for wedding stationery ... makingme very excited for the year ahead! That was the good bit .. the bad bit was that I ended up in hospital on Tuesday with a severe muscle spasm in my shoulder. I really must remember to move more when I'm working I think ... the new years exercise resolution isn't really going to plan just yet!
Anyway I wanted to round up the week with some of the beautiful wedding images and ideas I've found via the web and pinterest this week. You can follow Knots & Kisses on Pinterest here http://pinterest.com/knotsandkisses/ and its a great tool for anyone planning a wedding!
For me this week has been all about beautiful bridal accessories and gorgeous shades of reds, oranges and blush...

I don't know about you but I can't believe its only 10 days till the end of January! This month has flown by and enquiries are flooding in for wedding stationery for 2013 and beyond!
I hope all of you are coping ok with the snow. Here in Okehampton we've barely had any! Creating A 1920s Old Hollywood Style Wedding
Today I welcome the lovely Victoria, from Queens & Bowl www.queensandbowl.com , who has written a guest post for me all about the trend towards the 1920s in weddings. If anyone else, like me, is desperate to see the new Great Gatsby movie then this one's for you! If after reading this post you would love to create a 1920s themed wedding for yourself I have a couple of stationery ranges which fit in really well, including my bejewelled range below (http://knotsandkisses.co.uk) ...
The fabulous roaring twenties, where would we be without that dapper gent and flapper girl style?
The decade that welcomed The Great Gatsby, the jazz age and the original Hollywood icons with open arms and tantalised us with style go glorious we’re recreating that look quicker than you can say ‘boat hat’.
With the 1920’s signifying one of the most vibrant, opulent and glamorous eras, many couples find a vintage themed wedding carefully straddles the line between pure luxury, quirky style and allows them the freedom to make that old Hollywood look their own.
Trying to capture that perfect vintage theme can sound tricky, but it’s really quite simple, promise! The 1920’s was defined by fun and freedom and you can let your imagination run riot, just as the 1920’s woman broke out of the corset, you can break out of the mould, there’s room for creativity in the 1920s!
So where do you start?
Adding a few art deco touches to your day is a fail safe way to capture vintage elegance and with so many gorgeous bridal accessories available, you can make the look work for you. While the bride will no doubt have hours of fun draping herself with pearls and headpieces, the vintage groom is often less catered for. A travesty, no? Getting the grooms men in shopping mode can be challenging enough without the prospect of shopping for style from times bygone...
So in the quest for timeless elegance, here’s a few of my ultimate vintage style tips, minimal effort pieces with maximum old Hollywood glamour.
The Vintage Bride
Whether you have opted for a flapper style gown that oozes 20’s style, or gone for a more modern design, the guaranteed stamp of vintage style will show in your shoes and headpiece. Layering pearls and crystal jewellery screams old Hollywood icon, but adding some art deco accessories will really steal the show.
Vintage style allows for flexibility in your wedding shoes but I just can’t get enough of these Rachel Simpson ‘Emily’ fan detail round toes. From the T bar strap to the two toned white and gold, these capture art deco design perfectly.

A tiara is a staple bridal piece for most women on their big day and adding that vintage touch through a beautiful jewelled headpiece or side tiara will instantly give your ensemble vintage glamour. Finishing your bridal hair with an ostrich feather piece will also create that Gatsby look.
Tiffany Feather Side Tiara by Ivory & Co.
The Vintage Groom
One of the fantastic things about being a vintage groom is the fact that a beautifully cut black suit is timeless. Therefore if you want to opt for a modern tailored suit, the look will still be perfectly vintage with just a few style additions.
During the 1920’s it was common for gentlemen to wear shirts with a detachable collar and cuff to preserve the main body of the shirt. Therefore opting for a shirt a different colour from the collar and cuffs is as authentic as it is stylish. A tin pin is also effortlessly vintage and as bow ties were popular evening wear, the choice of tie or bow is entirely up to you.
The choice of a short suit jacket or tail coat are equally both authentic, in the early 20’s tail coats were popular but became seen as more old fashioned in the late 20’s, either way, both a viable option.
The groom’s shoes can be simple, smart and leather but for that show stopping vintage style, a pair of two tone leather brogues in a bold and neutral colour would be stunning.
I hope navigating the world of vintage style is now a little simpler with a few of my fail safe hints! Have you seen the Knots and Kisses gorgeous ‘Vintage Travel’ and ‘Vintage Cameo’ range by the way? Absolutely perfect for a stunning vintage inspired wedding! (Thanks Victoria!)

Woodland Fairytale Wedding Inspiration
Hello all!
I hope you liked the launch of the new Woodland Fairytale range of Wedding Stationery yesterday! I got such great feedback I was really pleased.
If you missed it here's a quick recap! The full range can now be found on my website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk
Today I wanted to share with you a wedding inspiration mood board that I have created to help you style your own Woodland Fairytale wedding!
I think the best way about going about creating this look is to mix a good amount of rustic elements, such as hessian, wood, & Kraft card with pretty pinks, reds and greens and lots of lace and velvet. That way you get a very pretty ethereal woodland look.
Lace dresses and accessories look wonderful, along with crowns of flowers. I also think if you are trying to create a magical woodland feel for your wedding ... even if its in a marquee ... then lighting is exceptionally important. Of course chandeliers would be wonderful but strings of pretty fairy lights work equally as well. And if you are dressing a marquee rather than a woodland with this look bring in lots of natural foliage to create the same feel :)

New Range of Wedding Stationery : Woodland Fairytale!
Today I'm absolutely delighted to be able to share with you the second of the new ranges of stationery I'm launching this New Year!
The range can now be found on the website alongside my other new range Vintage Travel and the existing stationery collections at http://knotsandkisses.co.uk
This range is called Woodland Fairytale and came into being through the work I did on some stationery for a photo shoot which was organised last year by the lovely Lauren Magovern of Lady Amy Wedding Design.
The theme for the shoot was Narnia / Secret Garden and it inspired me to adapt some of the ideas I worked on in that shoot, and also some autumnal bespoke stationery I had designed earlier in the year, and create 'Woodland Fairytale'!
The inspiration is magical forests and fantasty literature, combining rustic elements of brown manila card with pretty lace and floral motifs. Colours are a blend of autumnal browns and reds and pretty summery pinks and greens, so this really is a range for all seasons!
The Day Invitation is in a pocketfold style, tied with lace, and incorporating a information and rsvp card inside. There is also a slightly simpler layered Evening Invitation, which of course could also be used as your Day Invitations if you didn't need a pocketfold style.
There is also a full range of matching reception stationery, including menus, table numbers and table plans ... and a concertina style order of service for your wedding day.
I really hope you love the range as much as I do! If you would like to order 'Woodland Fairytale' for your wedding further information and prices can be found on my website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk or you can drop me an email at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk
Please check back on the blog tomorrow as I'll be sharing my styling ideas for the 'Woodland Fairytale' range which you can use for your wedding inspiration.
