Great Alternative Wedding Food Ideas

I think lots of you these days are considering alternative options to traditional sit down wedding breakfasts for your main meal and also great alternatives to the traditional buffet fare for your evening receptions.
I think a few quirky tables or carts set up instead of an evening buffet can create a much more relaxed feeling for your evening guests ... who can then 'graze' throughout the evening whenever they want to take a break from the dancefloor ... rather than the usual (and in my opinion slightly cringy!) moment where the DJ declares the "buffet is now open!". It also means your Day guests ... who have probably had quite a lot of food by that point ... don't feel under pressure to go and fill there plates with food they may not be ready for!

Here are a few of my favourite ideas on how to keep your guests fed in the evening ( I may have a bit of a sweet tooth! But lots of these ideas can be adapted for savoury ideas as well ... hot dogs or tacos especially!) ...

 

Radiant Orchid, Lavender & Mauve Wedding Inspiration

I've also been working on the 3 new wedding stationery designs for my Spring Collection which will be launching next month ... and there is a definite Spring feel to them .. with some lovely florals, pastel colours and a splash of classic blue and white. I can't wait to share them with you!

This year Pantone has declared the colour of the year as Pantone Radiant Orchid ... and so one of my new designs is definitely featuring some gorgeous lavender and mauve colours. So this week I've also been obsessing over the details of this wedding which was featured on the www.weddingchicks.com website ...

BBQ Weekend & Wedding Inspiration!

I don't know about you but I'm very much looking forward to a very sunny weekend this weekend!
I'll be working on Saturday but have got friends coming round for a BBQ on Sunday.
It will be the first time since we moved down to Devon that we've had chance to properly use the garden to entertain ... its not massive .. more of a large courtyard feel but I'm really looking forward to putting up some bunting and lanterns and cracking open the Pimms!

As well as loving all things wedding and interiors I also bloody love to cook! Plans for Sunday are a Mediterranean leg of lamb with cous cous and a berry mousse cake .. can't wait to get cooking!

 

 

On that note I thought I'd give you a few ideas today for BBQ Wedding Inspiration! If you are after a laid back relaxed summer wedding and also want to save on the pennies ... what better than a relaxed afternoon BBQ followed by a summery outdoor party and music .. rather than the full on sit down wedding breakfast etc. Just make sure you have wet weather provisions just incase the good old British summer doesn't play ball! :)

Weekly Wedding Inspiration - Wedding Food!

Hello!
Its been another manic week here at Knots & Kisses! Not only have I had lots of enquiries for some very exciting bespoke stationery and also been making a mammoth Vintage Suitcase Table Plan which I'll be sharing on the blog very soon .. I've had my lovely family come to stay for a couple of days mid week during half term so I also spent a lovely sunny day at the Miniature Pony Centre in Dartmoor with my very hyperactive niece and nephew :)

Today is my last day before heading off on a much needed holiday for a week. I'm hopping over the border into (hopefully!) sunny Cornwall and sort of camping in some fab 'hobbit huts' near St Austell before going to see Eddie Izzard at the Eden Project Sessions on Monday.

Back to weddings .. and this week I've been inspired by lots of fab foodie ideas for your wedding!

Award Winning Wedding Caterers in Devon

As I may have mentioned on Monday .. I had a lovely afternoon at the Exeter Food Festival on Saturday .. probably ate far too much, but came across several lovely food suppliers who cater for weddings.
One of which I'd like to introduce to you today ....
