Its not something I've ever thought about or covered on the blog before .. but choosing the lingerie for your wedding is a really important thing that possibly gets looked over by Brides who are just looking for the perfect dress.

Make your Bridal Lingerie work for you
Many brides leave sorting their bridal lingerie out until the last few weeks before they get married thinking that’s when it will fit them best. Of course many ‘brides to be’ are working out, dieting or indeed both to look their best for the big day. The reality is that figures won’t change all that much in 6 – 8 weeks which is about the best time to be getting your bridal underwear.
At least you won’t be left in a big department store choosing some lingerie that is roughly the right colour and sort of fits. Your wedding lingerie is almost as important as the dress itself, it needs to work with the dress, be an absolute comfortable fit and give you that feeling of confidence in the way you look. So it’s best to have your
wedding corset, bridal bra set, shapewear or whatever you choose in time for your final dress fitting to make sure they both work well together and make you look stunning.
Give some thought to what you want your wedding underwear to do for your figure and with some shopping around you’ll find the perfect lingerie for your wedding day. Here’s a few of our favourites at Moonrise Lingerie with some hints and tips of what to look out for;
Satin Bow Bustier
This is one of my favourites, it’s quite a new addition to this years range and it’s a great bridal bustier for the wedding day or night, and it’s strapless too, so will suit many style of wedding dress. The lightly padded underwiring gives medium support to empahsise and wonderfully define your figure whilst the lace overlay and ruffled lace hemline makes for a fantastically stylish looking outfit. The back has stretch panelling with a hook and eye closure. Finish the look off with matching thong and some lace top stockings and you’re sure to create a jaw dropping reaction that won’t be forgotten.
Floral Tapestry Corset
The Floral Tapestry Corset is hugely popular and is clear why. It’s made from a stylish jacquard material and finished with an absolutely gorgeously detailed Venice trim. Fastening at the front with a standard hook and eye fastening, whilst at the rear there is a double tie waist cinching lace up ribbon allowing for greater flexibility in fitting to suit personal taste, giving a wonderfully defined waistline. Strapless in its design and offering excellent support, along with removable and adjustable garters gives you the option of bridal stockings or hold ups. Available in

Juliette Corset
The Juliet Lace corset although less of the traditional styling it does have some exquisite lace detailing. It gives a nice medium level of support with its underwiring and light boning. Wonderfully romantic with its delicately laced edging finishing and light lace up ribbon tie featuring on both the corset and the matching thong. Available in the more traditional bridal white and with detatchable suspender straps it’s a fantastic choice for brides looking to enjoy a spring/ summer wedding.
Elegant Seamless Bustier
Although designed and best suited to the close figure hugging styles of wedding gown, this seamless bustier will suit many styles of wedding dress. Its moulded cups provide a good level of support for the bust and with sizes going up to 44D it’s a great plus size lingerie option too. The material is very soft and also surprisingly forgiving for the support it provides, a great, comfortable choice.
Jonquil Bridal Bra Set
This Jonquil Bridal bra set complete with matching thong and suspender belt is truly beautiful with its gorgeous detailing and decoration. The bra itself is a fabulous balconette style with delicately decorated cup edges with foliage embroidery and finished with Swarovski Crystals to add that bit of sparkle. It’s a great supporting bra with the boning in the wings and a silicone strap beneath the bust to provide a wonderful uplifting shape. The straps are removable if the gown style requires it, available in ivory, it’s a great lingerie set for the wedding day.
Superior Derriere Body Shaper
More and more modern brides are taking to wearing bridal body shapers in some form or another as their wedding day underwear option and then deciding to choose something a little more sexy and eye catching for the all important wedding night. This superior derriere shaper is a great little number for lightly shaping the waistline and tummy area whilst beautifully defining the derriere. Newly available in ivory especially for brides, it’s also finished with a fabulous lace overlay pattern, a great choice if no bust support is required and the dress is close fitting. If it works for the red carpet, then it’ll definitely work for the wedding march!
Accessories.
It’s all too easy to let the finer details slip by the wayside, especially in the last few weeks before the wedding day itself, but don’t forget the finishing touches to your wedding lingerie ensemble! Whether your preference is hold ups or a nice pair of lace top stocking, you ought to have a spare pair in case of any nicks or ladders.
