Strawberries & Cream Wedding Inspiration

Its been such a gorgeous sunny week this week, and of course Wimbledon has been on the tv in the studio all week as well. So, despite the disappointing early exit of Andy from the Tennis, today I have decided to do a Strawberries & Cream themed post for my 'Weekly Wedding Ideas'.

Its the perfect theme for an English summer wedding and there are lots of ideas out there ... here are my favourites ...

Fresh Strawberries as favours ... how cute are these little bags seen on http://intimatewedding.com

This naked cake decorated by Strawberries is the perfect summer wedding cake .. found on http://english-wedding.com photography by www.thewightstudio.co.uk

Serve your guest Champagne with Strawberry Puree as below .. or of course a classic Pimms!

And finally serve these gorgeous individual strawberry shortcake desserts

Have a lovely sunny weekend!

Lilac & Pink Vintage Scrapbook Style Wedding Invitations & Styling

I love creating bespoke stationery for couples. Carol contacted me .. loving my Country Garden range but wanting it adapting it for her wedding stationery with a pink rose print rather than the usual pastel ditsy print.
I of course was more than happy to oblige! I was really pleased with the results which I think give a really sweet twist on the Country Garden range.
If you would like any of the standard ranges on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk adapting for your wedding I'm more than happy to do this for just a small fee of £25 .. just get in touch and email me at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk

To match the lovely lilac and pink colourscheme for Carol & Danny's stationery I've also created a moodboard to match ...

English Country Garden Floral Wedding Invitations & Stationery

Firstly a massive apology for the lack of blog posts over the last week ... unfortunately after getting back form my little bank holiday weekend break I got hit down by a horrible stomach bug and was ill for much of last week :(
Feeling fighting fit this morning though and ready to tackle a new week and lots of wedding stationery sample orders which came in over the weekend!

Definitely the most popular range at the moment is my Country Garden collection for which I've had lots of sample requests and is definitely proving popular with all of you having pretty floral summer weddings this year.
So here's a little reminder of the range which launched earlier this year.

A full range of samples can be ordered from my website http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/countrygardencollection.html or you can now order the Country Garden range from my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/187790407/country-garden-floral-wedding?ref=shop_home_active_9

Bespoke Wedding Moodboards Created Just For You!

Recently I created an inspiration moodboard for one of my couples who were struggling themselves to visualise the ideas they had for their wedding and therefore also their wedding stationery.
I love to offer this as an extra service for clients as I love playing with colour and pattern to put together a coherent look. Its something I did for my first ever wedding client .. my sister ... back in 2005 when I was helping create the look she wanted for her wedding.

Here are some of my favourite moodboards that I have created in the past. If you are struggling to put together or visualise your wedding scheme then for a small fee I can create a wedding moodboard just for you! Just get in touch at info@knotsandkisses.co.uk ...

Mauve And Pale Pink Country Garden Wedding Inspiration

Hopefully you liked my new range of wedding stationery 'Country Garden' which I shared this morning on the blog.
To match this stationery this afternoon I'm sharing a moodboard I have created to help you with styling your wedding to match this range.
I see Country Garden with lots of rustic elements .. perhaps your table plan mounted on a wooden door, jam jars tied with string and filled with wildflower bouquets of pink roses and daisies. I would add in some beautiful vintage lace .. perhaps as a table runner and certainly in the dress of the bride, and dress the groom in a fun and colourful pink gingham shirt and bow tie!

And if you didn't see the blog earlier here is the Country Garden range which I've created this moodboard to go with ...

You can purchase samples of the new range directly from my website at http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/countrygardencollection.html and remember to check back tomorrow when I'll be sharing the last of the wedding stationery ranges I have launched this week ... 'China Blue'

Introducing The New Country Garden Collection Of Wedding Stationery

I hope you liked the new Ombre collection of wedding stationery which I featured on the blog yesterday. http://www.knotsandkisses.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/introducing-new-knots-kisses-spring.html

Today I want to introduce you to the second of the new ranges of wedding stationery which are now available on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk/countrygardencollection.html as part of my Spring Collection ... 'Country Garden'.

Country Garden has been inspired by my love of pastels, lace, gingham and wildflower bouquets ... perfect inspiration for a traditional English Country Garden Wedding. I wanted to use a pretty ditsy floral as the background and added stitching print detail to give it that 'handmade' feel.
The colours are bang on trend for this season with pretty mauves, pinks and olive shades mixed with a rustic brown paper print.

The Country Garden collection comes in a beautiful 350gsm heavyweight card and is available as either a standard square folded card, personalised with your details and guest names, or as a Day Invitation pack with an internal pocket, including Information and RSVP Card.
Also available is full range of matching reception stationery, including order of service and table plans, and packs of 'Ready to Write' stationery for those on a budget or in a hurry.

Make sure you check back later today as I'll be sharing a moodboard I've created to match the new Country Garden range!

English Grown and In Season Wedding Flowers

Its no secret that I adore fresh flowers ... I have always have a jug of fresh flowers on my dining room table, as just passing them every day makes me smile.
So, for me ... although I know there are lots of fab alternatives! ... a wedding just wouldn't be right without flowers.

Which brings me onto an emerging trend I'm seeing for beautiful English wildflower style bouquets and arrangements, which are very much in season ... so much so you go to the garden to choose them!
I've recently discovered The Garden Gate Flower Company for example ... based in Fowey, Cornwall  ... The flowers they grow in their organic cutting garden are those which thrive in Cornwall. The changing nature of their bouquets reflect the changing seasons reminiscent of Cornwall’s famous gardens and hedgerows. http://www.thegardengateflowercompany.co.uk/ . This is just one example but I've heard of a few companies like this around the country who work in this way.

Its pretty well known that most florists can get pretty much most flowers all year round if they choose to import them from abroad and pick them up at the flower markets .... I know several florists who don't do this by the way but several who do.
Perhaps I'm being idealistic but I would love to see people go back to buying flowers in season, in the same way as we are seeing a return to buying our food in season.
I myself adore Peonies .. I would love to have peonies on my dining room table all year round! However I know that Peony season is short and so I restrict myself to having them for the months I can get them.

my favourite peonies! image from www.kissthegroom.com

Now I am by no means a flower expert! I don't know hardly any flowers actual names by sight ... but would love to see what couples getting married and professional florists think about this whole issue. Perhaps there are more florists than I realise out there that are already doing this .. it would be great to hear from you.
All I know is that I've been told by a couple of florists when I'm after a specific look of flower that they can pretty much get hold of anything for me .. just from abroad.

It would be interesting to hear what you all think .. ok ... Discuss! :)

A Beautiful Garden Wedding Venue!

Hello! Hope you all had a lovely weekend in this sunshine .. wasn't it just glorious! I managed to get some time away from work to go to a local music festival on Saturday and then yesterday I went to the gorgeous gardens at RHS Rosemoor near Great Torrington in Devon.
Its only half an hour away from my new house so I'm looking forward to going back :)

While I was there I found out that they are a licensed venue for civil ceremonies and host weddings and receptions .. and of course I immediately wanted to share this with you all! It was such a beautiful and picturesque English country garden setting it seemed absolutely perfect for a wedding venue.

Rosemoor provides a stunning backdrop for your wedding. Image: Jayne Poole Photograpy

They have a selection of small and large licensed civil ceremony 'buildings' .. including a gorgeous gazebo and my favourite a gorgeous little thatched cottage enclosure!

Rosemoor House

You can exchange your vows in one of five romantic venues throughout the garden which have been licensed to hold wedding ceremonies. All have their own unique charm, and some are the closest you can get to getting married outdoors in this country! Toast your marriage with champagne on one of their sunny lawns then celebrate with a delightful reception for up to 250 guests in their marquee overlooking the garden. Rosemoor’s Garden Kitchen restaurant, outside seating area and Winter Garden Lawn can also be incorporated to accommodate guests for an evening party.
