Ok so I'm a little bit obsessed with Chalkboard effect wedding cakes at the moment!
I saw a gorgeous one on Little Lark Cakes stand at the Bespoke Bride Guide Wedding Showcase I attended last Sunday and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since!

Hand Painted Wedding Cakes

One of my favourite trends in the wedding world right now is for gorgeous hand painted wedding cakes. They can be whimsical, floral or very, very modern but the hand painting gives a really beautiful artisan touch and also the guarantee that your cake will be totally individual!

One of my favourite exponents of this style is the lovely Natasha from Nevie Pie Cakes  www.neviepiecakes.com who is based in the UK. I had the great fortune of seeing some of Natasha's cakes in person a few years back at a wedding fair I did in Milton Keynes and I loved her work then.
This is one of favourites from her designs ... I think the colours are amazing!

Fancy Some Wedding Cake ?!

I do love a piece of cake! And so what better to spend this Wednesday on the blog looking at than some gorgeous wedding cakes!
There are some great options out there for couples now who want something special for their wedding day ... and it doesn't necessarily need to be a traditional three tier option.
I personally love the idea of a display of several single tier cakes, a 'bake off' style competition where your guests all bring a cake ( definitely saves on money!) .. or perhaps a 'naked' cake or a cake made of cheese! The options are endless!

Beautiful Simple Wedding Cakes

Well its the end of another week and, although its not great weather out there, I'm looking forward to spending the weekend taking photographs for the new website update. Not only will I be photographing the 4 new ranges which will be launching but re-photographing all of the existing ranges to give the new website a fresh and coherent luck.
Hopefully it won't be too grey outside but just in case I have a rather large photographers lamp sitting in my hallway!

For me this week Wedding Inspiration has all been about cakes! Pretty, beautiful and unusual ... wedding cakes are definitely having a bit of a makeover with many option for stripped back or naked cakes rather than the traditional fully iced three tier option.
