Gorgeous New Country House Wedding Venue In Devon

On Sunday I had the great pleasure of visiting a stunning new wedding venue in Devon.
Bridwell Park, a beautiful Georgian House and home to the Mountbatten family is now available to hire as an exclusive wedding venue and I was blown away by the gorgeous setting amongst its own deer park. I took along my camera and took a few photos of the day plus am sharing some of the Bridwell's own photos of the venue as well.

On Sunday Bridwell hosted a wedding showcase with some other fantastic suppliers from around the South West area organised by the lovely Blue Fizz Events www.bluefizzevents.co.uk who had a lovely marquee set up on the lawn and further suppliers in the spectacularly pretty Orangery which is a perfect area for wedding receptions and looked amazing with a ceiling strewn in twinkly fairy lights. I can really imagine this area and the almost hidden lawn in front making a very atmospheric magical wedding reception.

I had the pleasure of being shown around the gorgeous house which, unexpectedly ... I'm not a big fan of overly grand imposing houses ..., had a gorgeous cosy and intimate feel with lots of beautiful period rooms which could be put to various uses over the course of your wedding weekend.
In fact they have gone as far as licensing every part of Bridwell for marriage ceremonies giving an amazing degree of flexibility!
There is a gorgeous chapel within the grounds which is the obvious place for a ceremony - and this was dressed with absolutely beautiful country flowers on Sunday.

However there are also light spacious Georgian rooms within the house which would also be perfect and the sunny yellow entrance hall and the incredibly cosy library room which would both be amazing for a intimate wedding.

Exclusive use of the house means you can really feel at home for the weekend of your wedding and you and your guests can potter about and make use of the fantastic facilities which include a cinema room and this stunning country kitchen.

For more information take a look at Bridwell's website http://www.bridwell.co.uk ... I can thoroughly recommend a visit!

Gorgeous Wedding Venue in the Devon Countryside

I had a lovely day on Sunday visiting the Vintage Fair at Killerton House near Exeter.
Its such a beautiful house ... and has a really Mediterranean feel with its terracotta paintwork even though its in the middle of the Devon countryside. There is also a really gorgeous chapel in the grounds which is worth a visit.

I was also delighted to find out that you can use the Killerton Estate for weddings so thought I would share it with you on the blog today.

Here as an example of a real wedding at the Killerton Estate photographed by www.rosieanderson.co.uk which featured in Wed Magazine in 2013 http://www.wedmagazine.co.uk/real-wedding-at-killerton-estate-devon-ellie-david.html

A Stunning Arts & Crafts Wedding Venue in the Devon Countryside

I had the absolute pleasure recently of visiting a gorgeous wedding venue just down the road from me on the edge of Dartmoor and in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside.

The lovely Sarah showed me around 'Coombe Trenchard' after a chat and a cup of tea in front of one of the many lovely fireplaces in the house.

Coombe Trenchard is an Edwardian Estate with a very Arts & Crafts feel .. making me exceptionally happy as I'm a bit of an Arts & Crafts obsessive! Give me some William Morris patterned wallpaper and a beautiful hand carved wooden door and I'm there! So there were lots of oohs and aahs as I was wondering around the house. The panelling and fireplaces are absolutely beautiful ... and there is also a 'secret disappearing wall'!

Coombe Trenchard is perfect for an elegant yet relaxed wedding; the Edwardian house and gardens were designed for entertaining and is available for civil ceremonies as well as other celebrations.
The House is nestled within acres of picturesque gardens and parkland, incorporating water gardens, a stream with bridges, a woodland garden, terraces and many Arts & Crafts features.

You can have a small, intimate ceremony under the Italianate tower, to something more formal within the Grand Hall, beneath the Minstrels Gallery, which makes the perfect entrance for the bride to be down a beautiful sweeping staircase.

The terrace overlooking the gardens at the back is particularly stunning .. with the most amazing views over the Dartmoor countryside ... and would be perfect for an after ceremony drinks reception.

All in all if you are looking for a intimate venue with a real sense of style and history I would thoroughly recommend giving Sarah a call and arranging a visit.

Take a look at Coombe Trenchard on their website at http://www.coombetrenchard.co.uk or drop Sarah an email at sarah@coombetrenchard.co.uk
