Beautiful Bridal Hairstyles

Gosh I can't believe it's the end of the week already and after all the beautiful sunshine for most of the week the weather has again turned on us! Flutterings of snow yesterday really made it feel like winter again!
On that note I have a fantastic guest post on the blog for you today from Timothy Jenkins, a hairstylist from Chicago, all about perfect Winter Wedding Hairstyles! So whether you're getting married in the next few weeks and want something a bit more suited to this unseasonable weather .. or planning your winter wedding for later this year .. there should be something to suit.

"While winter is not commonly thought of as the traditional time for weddings, it’s becoming one of the most popular seasons to head down the aisle to marital bliss. The winter months bring with them a unique beauty that this magical season creates. Winter weddings also lend themselves to gorgeous hairstyles that compliment equally stunning wedding attire.

If you are a winter bride looking for something out of the ordinary for your special day, here are some of the best non-traditional wedding hairstyles.

Low Side Pony

A sweet look for winter brides is actually easy for the DIY bride. Take your hair and comb straight to the lowest point of your head and to the side behind your left ear. Pull into a hair coloured hair band. Wrap the hair band with a wide white ribbon and let the ends fall over your shoulder. Then add a flower clip to the other side of your ear and your veil.

Romantic Rows

A modern twist on the traditional wedding up-do uses rows of your hair to define your face shape and bring out your best features. Start by sectioning your hair in the front away from your hair in the back. Use a clip to hold hair over your face. Then starting at one ear, pull sections of hair into 2-inch rows, twist and secure at your crown to the other side with hair pins. Then place your veil piece just above this row.

Sleek Sweep

The hottest wedding hair on runways this year is sleek and shiny. Start by using a shine serum on freshly washed hair, using a styling iron to flatten out any waves. Then sweep hair to the back, clip with a hair clip and add a touch of whimsy with some flowers or a glittery hair comb.

Crowned Glory

Add a row of flowers or a wide ribbon across the top of your crown, and loop this under and behind your head, letting them drape over your back for a romantic winter wedding hairstyle.

Sweet Simplicity

Wintertime can be challenging for styling wedding hair, so many brides like a more simple look. Get your hair cut into a blunt bob, then sweep the sides into combs above your ears. Or try a simple white hairband to hold hair back under your veil.
