Flowers In Season For A Winter Wedding

Today sees my final post in my four part series on what flowers are in season for your wedding. Today I'm looking at winter weddings. Immediate thoughts of winter weddings are red roses and lots of evergreen pine but there are a lot more options that you would think.
Of course the list below is just my favourites and make sure you check with your florist about what they can provide for you on the exact date of your wedding.

Cosmos

Cosmos is such a beautiful little flower - it come in many colours but I particularly love the 'Chocolate' variety for winter wedding bouquets.

Amaryllis
A great statement flower for winter and in a surprising variety of colours. I would go classic with silver green foliage and winter white amaryllis or the gorgeous deep hued burgundy flowers.

Paperwhites

These gorgeous small flowers look amazing on their own en-masse or equally at home accenting larger flowers in a bouquet or arrangement.

Pussy Willow
I adore this in winter bouquets - it gives such a edgy rustic wild woodland look and lots of drama.

Hellebores
Again a lovely range of colours but perfect if you are looking for dark purples and plums.

Rosemary
Ok not really a flower but I adore herbs in bouquets and as rosemary is so hardy its great for adding to winter bouquets and makes lovely table displays tucked into napkins.

Elegant Winter Wedding Inspiration

Well the weather has definitely taken a turn for the colder this week ... which makes me very happy as it means that Christmas is on its way! I'm hoping it stays dry and crisp for tomorrow as I'm taking my niece and nephew on the Santa train in Dartmoor so a cold dry day ( and perhaps some snow! ) would be perfect!

On that note I've been inspired by wintery but still very elegant weddings this week.
A winter wedding doesn't necessarily mean going down the blue and frosty or red, green and Christmassy route. These inspirational idea I've found via pinterest this week are definitely wintery but in an elegant palette of creams, blushes and greys...

Have a lovely wintery weekend!

Winter Wedding Stationery & Inspiration

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend ... I was doing more work on my stand for the 'Fabulous Wedding Festival' which I'll be exhibiting at this Saturday at Muddifords Court in Devon ... I look forward to meeting some of you in person!

Today I wanted to share with you a version of my Sketch range of stationery which I created for a lovely couple recently who are getting married in Finland next year! The Bride is Finnish and rather than one of the standard motifs which come with the Sketch range wanted a snowflake motif to match their Winter Wedding theme, and also a darker grey background to match the beautiful bridesmaids dresses she had chosen.

To go with this beautiful winter wedding theme I've created a moodboard full of lots of ideas for a very subtle Winter Wedding theme. Its very easy with Winter or Christmas themes to go a bit overboard and it become a bit tacky but by adding in subtle shades of grey and taupe it gives the whole thing a much more sophisticated look. I particularly love the vaguely snowflake looking headband and the stunningly glamorous dress from BHLDN.

Weekly Wedding Inspiration

Hope you've all had a fabulous week! Its been a bit of a mad one here at Knots & Kisses ... two really large orders to finish and post out to lovely clients, and a HUGE amount of new enquiries for wedding stationery ... makingme very excited for the year ahead! That was the good bit .. the bad bit was that I ended up in hospital on Tuesday with a severe muscle spasm in my shoulder. I really must remember to move more when I'm working I think ... the new years exercise resolution isn't really going to plan just yet!

Anyway I wanted to round up the week with some of the beautiful wedding images and ideas I've found via the web and pinterest this week. You can follow Knots & Kisses on Pinterest here http://pinterest.com/knotsandkisses/ and its a great tool for anyone planning a wedding!
For me this week has been all about beautiful bridal accessories and gorgeous shades of reds, oranges and blush...
