Summer Wedding Inspiration & Stationery

Well I hope all of you have enjoyed the glorious weather over the weekend! Wasn't it amazing!
To celebrate the gorgeous weather I'm delighted to share with you a 'Summer Berries' inspired photo shoot which I was over the moon to design and make stationery for recently.
Organised by the lovely Lauren of Lady Amy Wedding Design .. its brim full of gorgeous ideas for your Summer wedding! Lauren provided me with a glorious moodboard as inspiration for the stationery and I started sketching and designing immediately. I'm also delighted to announce that I've decided to launch the stationery I designed for the shoot as a new range at the end of this Summer ... so keep your eyes peeled for the launch! :)

I've asked Lauren to tell you a little more about the shoot ....

"What beautiful sunny weather we have been experiencing recently in the Cotswolds, the perfect backdrop for a wedding day.

This delicious English Summer Berry infused photo shoot is perfect for some simple yet utterly gorgeous wedding inspiration for an English summer wedding.

Heavily inspired by the idea of English afternoon tea, vintage chic and the stunning surroundings we are lucky to live upon here in the Cotswolds, using fresh flowers and fresh fruit for embellishments and decor and yummy sweet treats for all your guests.
As a wedding planner its so important to bring together a selection of suppliers who work perfectly together creating your dream day. So, all the suppliers involved in this stunning shoot where carefully selected, to ensure we had the highest quality and the best people within the industry on board.
To create this Summer Berry look we used a beautiful pallet of rich pinks and reds, greens and creams with a few feathers and pearls to create depth and texture.. Keeping the overall look very soft and feminine, yet still rustic.

I hope you have enjoyed our Cotswolds wedding inspiration shoot and we wish you all the best with your wedding plans..

Ideas For Wedding Table Decor

I love the idea of really dressing a table properly at a Wedding and not just using a traditional floral centrepiece. I've always been a fan of layering when it comes to dressing tables or any other type of interior .. it gives it a more finished luxurious feel ... and really doesn't have to be expensive!
You can quite easily go out and by cheap but pretty fabrics to create a great look and create centre pieces out of pretty much anything.
Here are a few of my favourite current ideas ...

I love the idea of using Doilies as a table runner .. I'm thinking of recreating this myself for my own dining table at home! These gorgeous runners are available from Littlewhiteboutique on www.etsy.com but I'm sure those of you who are handy with a sewing machine could come up with something similar for yourself.
They also do these gorgeous rustic burlap and lace cutlery holders for your tables.

Again with the idea of layering your tables ... try and include layered charger plates on your tables (they don't have to be expensive) with napkins on the top. This makes your tables look so much more finished.

You could quite easily collect some really pretty mismatching china and fabrics in the months/years before your wedding for a lovely eclectic look on the day.

Finally ... try thinking out of the box when it comes to centrepieces.
Rows of individual glass bottles with single blooms in can provide an incredibly effective yet fantastic value alternative (again remember to include some sort of runner underneath to tie everything together) ...

Think about using candles en masse rather than flowers for a really striking modern look .. especially great in a hotel or indoor venue to create some atmosphere.

If you do want flowers as a centrepiece .. think of using unusual display ideas or vases. I love these vintage and retro canisters that have been used. Clustering them together like this creates a better visual impact.

Jubilee Inspired Wedding Photo Shoot

I've got a fantastic supplier styled shoot to share with you today, continuing on with the Jubilee theme, from a fantastic bunch based up in Manchester. The lovely Clare from http://www.blushrose.co.uk/ , who I met at the Milton Keynes Vintage Wedding Fair in February, contacted me with this fabulous shoot.
Here she is to tell you a little bit more about the day ....

Diamond Jubilee Year and Independent Vintage Businesses Reign.

"Manchester is fast becoming a hotbed of fabulous wedding suppliers of all things vintage. As the fashion for vintage weddings or adding a ‘homemade’ feel to proceedings continues to grow “The Manchester Vintage Collective” came together to harness and show off some of the talent which has developed across the city.

The Collective, a group of small and growing businesses passionate about vintage style, came together initially a year ago when Amedea from Foley Photography contacted Laura, owner of the Airyfairy Cake Boutique. The first venture was a vintage photoshoot for a newly engaged couple, run as a competition with great success. Since then the Collective has grown to incorporate a small range of specialist vintage businesses.

The business owners all came together to create a stunning photoshoot to showcase each of their products, from the dresses designed by Dodie especially for the shoot, to Katie with the fabulous props and styling which added drama and created the ‘look’ through to Jeni with the complimentary and stunning make up.

Inspired by the sketches of the beautiful dresses by Dodie and the brief from Foley Photography; Perfect Days Vintage worked with Vintage Twee to create the overall feel for each era. The business owners worked over one of the busiest weekends of the year to bring the shoot together and beingcoordinated by Amedea of Foley Photography and the help of the stunning Manchester Art Gallery, the result is a set of truly exquisite images from the day, the perfect showcase for any happy couple planning their big day.

With it being Diamond Jubilee year as well as the 2012 Olympics, the shoot was styled on a 1950’s theme. Using Union Jacks and thinking of all things British we took the bright red colour scheme and worked it through the photographs from the flowers to the styling and the cakes and cake pops. The bright colours really stood out in the images which also added a sense of fun and celebration. The subtle use of the Union Jack in the more muted tones gave a nod to the era along with the crown, colour of the dress and the styling of the venue.

The Manchester Vintage Collective will continue to work together on more wedding and vintage related events and as independent Manchester based businesses, the creative owners all work together to fulfill every bride’s (and groom’s!) desires.

A Very British Wedding Celebration & Stationery!

I've decided its Jubilee week on the blog this week! I'm in the mood for all the flag waving, tea parties and run up to the London Olympics I can get!
Tomorrow I've got a fab Jubilee inspired shoot to share with you from some amazing wedding suppliers, but today I wanted to revisit my 'Very British Wedding' range of stationery.
I designed the range last year inspired by all the patriotism over the Royal Wedding, so it only seemed right to have another look at it now when we're in for a massive summer of flag waving and Britishness :)

The range could easily be adapted to be Birthday Party or Jubilee Street Party Invitations if you're holding a bash so please don't hesitate to get in touch via the website www.knotsandkisses.co.uk or via email info@knotsandkisses.co.uk
