I for one think you should be able to be a little more creative when it comes to what you serve your guests for a mid afternoon meal and am of the opinion that a full sit down meal followed by an evening buffet is just a little too much for most guests!
So what are the alternatives to a naff seventies style buffet I here you ask!? Here are a few of my favourite ideas ....
The Fairground Food
Hire an icecream van from the fabulous www.vintagescoops.co.uk , a candy floss cart, add hot dogs and chips & crisps in paper cones and you've got the perfect party food for your guests!
The Modern Buffet
Forget those awful seventies style sausage roll buffets or great big trays of overcooked hot food! This is all about platters of antipasti & tables full to brim with pies and desserts!
Afternoon Tea
Perfect if you want your guests still seated but want a more informal eating style. Pile cake stands in the centre of the table with finger sandwiches, pastries and cakes .. plus big pots of tea and lots of vintage china.
Also fabulous with large pitchers of pimms!
Picnic!
I love this one! Whether you go the whole hog and have picnic blankets out for your guests with baskets brim full of goodies or just have tables full of picnic baskets or brown paper bags for your guests to pick up on their way into the barn or marquee ... this idea automatically puts a relaxed vibe into your wedding!
I hope you've picked up a few ideas that you might use at your wedding ... and remember you don't have to go with the traditional wedding breakfast!

Food plays a major role in making an event successful. It is also necessary to select the best food option and catering service. It is better to hire finger food catering for parties and birthdays.
