Art Deco Vintage Train Travel Wedding Reception Stationery

Last week one of my bespoke couples Laura & Matthew got married in a Vintage Travel and Art Deco themed wedding day. I had the great pleasure of designing their wedding reception stationery which was fantastic fun as they really allowed me to run with the theme.

For their wedding I designed placecards and order of service and also some bespoke signs for their Order of Day and Guest Book to match in with the theme.
My favourite element of their reception stationery though was the bespoke table plan which Laura wanted to have the feel of an arrivals board and also incorporate images of the vintage postcards which they were using for their table names.

Vintage Railway Art Deco Wedding Invitations

Sometimes you get a brief from a client for bespoke stationery which really challenges your design skills and gets you excited to come up with designs. The stationery that I was commissioned by Laura & Matthew to create was definitely one of these occasions.
Living in York they wanted to combined a love of Art Deco with a Vintage Train Travel theme.
The design I cam up with combined art deco motifs along with a ticket style invitation inserted into a 'Vintage Railway Poster' style wallet.
I love the finished effect and can't wait to design the matching reception stationery!

The envelopes also came with a matching pre-addressed envelope so they could be posted straight to their guests with very little effort. This service is available with all of my stationery designs.

Laura & Matthew booked a full design package with me http://knotsandkisses.co.uk/bespokestationery.html which included complimentary guest address labels and these invitations were the second part of the design process which started with these matching Save the Dates which I designed last year.

Art Deco Train Travel Themed Save the Date Cards

I love working on bespoke stationery and I've been loving working on the theme Laura set me for her wedding stationery this year!
I can't wait to show you the design for the actual invitations which are really something unusual and special I think ... but in the meantime, today, I'm sharing the Save the Date card design I created to give a first glimpse of the theme.

Laura and Matthew are from York and their wedding is being partly inspired by the Railway Museum and partly by their love of Art Deco ... so my brief was to come up with a railway ticket inspired design in a vintage Art Deco design. The main invites will incorporate more of the 'railway' theme but for this design it is just a subtle hint.
