Weekly Wedding Inspiration - Wedding Food!

Hello!
Its been another manic week here at Knots & Kisses! Not only have I had lots of enquiries for some very exciting bespoke stationery and also been making a mammoth Vintage Suitcase Table Plan which I'll be sharing on the blog very soon .. I've had my lovely family come to stay for a couple of days mid week during half term so I also spent a lovely sunny day at the Miniature Pony Centre in Dartmoor with my very hyperactive niece and nephew :)

Today is my last day before heading off on a much needed holiday for a week. I'm hopping over the border into (hopefully!) sunny Cornwall and sort of camping in some fab 'hobbit huts' near St Austell before going to see Eddie Izzard at the Eden Project Sessions on Monday.

Back to weddings .. and this week I've been inspired by lots of fab foodie ideas for your wedding!

Fantastic Wedding Bargains on 'Sell My Wedding'

I just had to share with you a website I came across recently called http://www.sellmywedding.co.uk
It's a fantastic concept and design which allows past brides to sell items from their wedding .. be it their dress, reception stationery décor, bridesmaids dresses .. you name it ... and future brides to buy some fantastic items for their wedding for often much less than retail price as they have been 'preloved'. I guess its like ebay for weddings only in a much prettier package and all in one place!
The other great thing is that you can search not only by item but also by style of wedding, season or by colour which is really handy!

Movie Themed Art Deco Wedding Inspiration

Hope you're all having a lovely bank holiday weekend!
If you were reading the blog last Monday you will have seen me feature the Purple Art Deco Movie Themed Table Plan which I created for Kerri who got married on the 18th of May.
Today I wanted to share with you a wedding inspiration mood board to match this design. The colour scheme was dark purples and bronzes with some black and white ... and with a real old Hollywood movie theatre feel.
Great ideas to style this wedding would be old film reels, large neon letters and clapper boards and I love the idea of an old warehouse brick background for the reception with slinky art deco style dresses ...

Weekly Wedding Inspiration - Rural Country Lilacs & Pinks

Hope you've all had a lovely week! I'm going to spending the weekend making a Vintage Suitcase style table plan for a fabulous wedding on the 8th June. There will definitely be photos to follow after the wedding as I'm thinking of adding the suitcase table plan hire as a standard service on the website :)

Meantime, this week, I've been strangely drawn to the colour lilac!
Not that odd you would think until you understand that for most of my life I avoided any shade of purple as it was my little sister's favourite colour and obsession!
I like the idea for a wedding of mixing deep lilacs and pinks with rustic elements for a really pretty relaxed wedding feel ...

Today I just had to share with you one of my favourite Wedding Dress Designers .. Claire Pettibone. The current Collection is just so beautiful ... I also adore the styling with the beautiful floral crowns ... its all very pre-Raphaelite ( my favourite period in art history!)
To be honest all of the collections are equally as gorgeous with lots of lace and applique details.

An Art Deco Movie Themed Wedding!

Welcome to another new week here on the Knots & Kisses blog ... I can't believe how quickly 2013 is racing along! Its already Chelsea Flower Show week and although I can't describe myself as massively green fingered I try my best with my garden and love watching Chelsea for all the beautiful floral inspiration ... flowers often influence my stationery work so I can class it as research right!??

Back to today and I'm delighted to share with you some bespoke reception stationery I designed for the lovely Kerri & Mike who got married this weekend and had a Movie Themed Art Deco style wedding. As opposed to the usual black ivory and grey colour combinations usually associated with art deco Kerri & Mike wanted to go with a deep purple and bronze colour combination.

Weekly Wedding Inspiration - Soft Muted Tones

I'm a sucker for trawling through Pinterest every week .. you can follow me at http://pinterest.com/knotsandkisses ... and am always finding beautiful colour palettes or fantastic wedding ideas to share with you here on the blog.

After spending most of last week looking at bright fun colours for my two new wedding stationery ranges .. this week I've been attracted to a more neutral colour palette.
Beautiful soft and muted tones of pale greys, blush pinks and soft ivories make a wedding look incredibly classic yet still modern and are perfect for all seasons of wedding, looking as equally at home with a beautiful summer garden wedding as they would do in a glamorous winter wedding!
I'm actually working on quite a neutral colour palette of stationery this week for a client so hopefully will be able to share that with you soon :)

Graphic Chevron Print Wedding Stationery in Navy & Mustard

Welcome to a new week here on the Knots & Kisses blog ... I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, even though the weather definitely took a turn for the worst again.
Despite that I managed to get some time in the garden on Saturday around finishing stationery orders so feel very relaxed and ready for the week ahead.

Today I'm looking in detail at the last of the colour combinations in the Graphic Prints Collection of stationery which comes in a Navy & Mustard Chevron pattern.

I love this colour combination ... it works really well with graphic prints and makes a refreshing combination for a modern wedding - as well as working quite well for a modern seaside feel as well.
As with the rest of the Graphic Prints range the Day and Evening Invitations come with a matching (or contrasting if you prefer) lined envelope and also comes with a full range of matching reception stationery.

The New Graphic Prints Collection in Coral & Sage Green

Today I want to return to the New Graphic Prints Collection of Wedding Stationery which launched this week and share with you more images and styling ideas for the 'Graphic Knot' print in the collection which comes in a gorgeous Coral & Sage Green colourscheme ... although as before can be easily mixed and matched with the other prints in the collection.

As previously mentioned the Graphic Prints collection draws on influences of fifties and sixties retro design, but I also think that the Graphic Knot print has a hint of North African Moorish design to it and would also really compliment a wedding with these influences.

All Day & Evening Invitations come with a matching lined envelope and a full range of matching reception stationery.

The New 'Rosie & Stitch' Collection of Wedding Stationery!

Following on from the blog yesterday today I'd like to introduce and tell you more about the new 'Rosie & Stitch' Collection of Wedding Stationery which I launched on Tuesday on the website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk (Samples are available to purchase via the website now.)

The idea for Rosie & Stitch came into being from some stationery which I created for a styled table by Devon Vintage China at the Fabulous Wedding Festival I exhibited at in March.
The bright fun colours and cross stitch details really inspired me to create a full range of stationery from the few reception items I had created for their table and so 'Rosie & Stitch' was born!

I wanted to keep the range as bright and summery as possible ... inspired by the colours of Vintage crockery and embroidered samplers and linens ... and so the outside is a bright custard colour with china blue details and the inside of the invitations are a gorgeous green and pale pink. The Day Invitation can be purchased as either a plain folded card or as a pocketfold design, including a rsvp and information card.

All the matching reception stationery is also in a contrasting mix of all the colours to create maximum impact at your reception venue.

I've created a wedding styling moodboard that matches the range and carries on the fun floral theme ...



The New 'Graphic Prints' Wedding Stationery Collection!

Hopefully you all caught my initial blog yesterday which launched the two new ranges of wedding stationery on my website http://knotsandkisses.co.uk
I got some fantastic feedback so thank you to everyone who commented .. I was chuffed to bits.

Today I want to take a closer look at the first of the new ranges which is the Graphic Prints Collection.

The 'Graphic Prints' collection started out with me wanting to design a range which would be as popular and versatile as my 'Sketch' range of wedding stationery. Sketch is always popular with brides because of its clean lines and typography and also the ability to mix and match colours and motifs and also easily make it bespoke to suit your wedding.
I wanted to create something which had these same virtues but a bit more of a modern, less rustic, feel.

As anyone who has visited my house will know I have an eclectic mix of tastes ... from pretty, floral and rustic to forties and fifties retro, and so I wanted to draw inspiration from this last era to create the new 'Graphic Prints' range.
You can therefore order the range in a choice of three contrasting but complimentary prints, with the ability to mix and match the prints used for the bands and envelope liners if you wish.

'Retro Floral' is a Scandinavian style floral print in a palette of oranges, mustards, blues and greens, with a grey background card.

'Graphic Chevron' comes with a mustard chevron patterned band and a dark navy border.

And 'Graphic Knot' comes in spring like Coral Orange mixed with a Sage Green background card.

All Day & Evening Invitations come with a matching lined envelope.
There is also a full range of matching reception stationery with bold graphic typography.

Here are some of my styling ideas to match with the 'Retro Floral' scheme ... I'll be sharing wedding moodboards and styling ideas to match the 'Graphic Chevron' and 'Graphic Knot' schemes later in the week and early next week.
