An Amazing Wedding Weekend!
Wow! What a Weekend!
I spent yesterday exhibiting at the very first Mrs Scoops & Little Miss G's Wedding Fair in Milton Keynes.
Here's a picture of my stand on the day ... I was so pleased with it! Me and my other half put a lot of work into it and I think the result was just what I wanted ...
One of the other best bits of the weekend was meeting so many other suppliers, bloggers and wedding industry folk that I have spent so long chatting with over twitter and facebook ... finally getting to meet them in person was lovely!
Here are some photos of the stands of the other amazing exhibitors ....
I spent yesterday exhibiting at the very first Mrs Scoops & Little Miss G's Wedding Fair in Milton Keynes.
The turnout was amazing! I met so many lovely brides to be and couples ... it was a pleasure to talk with you all about your wedding stationery plans!
For those of you that did go and pick up a card or have a chat .. please don't hesitate to get in contact with any further questions you may have.
Here's a picture of my stand on the day ... I was so pleased with it! Me and my other half put a lot of work into it and I think the result was just what I wanted ...
Firstly I have to say a massive Thank You to the Wonderful Hayley, aka Mrs Scoops, & the equally wonderful Gemma, aka Little Miss G, who organised the fair and did such a wonderful job!
Hayley was giving out icecreams all day from her gorgeous icecream van Betty ... which was lovely given how sunny and gorgeous it was!

I hope I've managed to include everyone here ( my lovely other half was taking photos so I apologise if her didn't get any of your stand! ) .... but I hope they manage to convey what a lovely day was had by all!

Pretty in Pink & Blue - Wedding Styling & Stationery
Hello!
Start to another busy week where I'm looking forward to making up some purple and white reception stationery, and order of my Very British Wedding range of stationery http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/ and a special treat at the end of the week as I'll be exhibiting at the Vintage Wedding Fair at the Cruck Barn in Milton Keynes on Sunday! ( More of that later in the week!)
Last week I had a bride enquire as to whether I could adapt my Butterflies & Roses Greetings Card range for her wedding stationery. My answer was of course! If there's anything you see which I've done that isn't wedding stationery but you would like to adapt it for you that's absolutely no problem!
Here's how I would adapt the range to suit a wedding and some of the pretty styling ideas I've come up with to go with it ....

Wedding Styling Inspiration - Lemon & Blue
Hi everyone! Start of a brand new week and I'm looking forward to finishing off some bespoke festival inspired stationery and making up lots of goodies to take with me to the wedding fair I'm exhibiting at in Milton Keynes on the 26th.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend ... I spent yesterday at my friends Baby Shower which was absolutely lovely :)
Today's wedding styling inspiration was taken from a call I got from a client recently who wanted to know if she could combine the the blue and lemon colourways in my new Candy Stripe range of stationery as these were the colours for her wedding. Of course I said yes! I'm looking forward to using this fresh summery colour scheme to make some samples up for her and decided to use today's blog post to share some more styling ideas to match this colour scheme ... hope you like :)

Friday Supplier Spotlight - Florist In The Forest
Hope everyone's had a lovely week this week and is enjoying / hiding from the snow :)
On today's Supplier Spotlight I'd like to introduce you to the lovely Katherine who runs Florist In The Forest, and produces the most gorgeous wedding flowers! http://www.floristintheforest.co.uk/
Inspirations tend to come from the beauty of the flowers themselves. My style is very natural and country and I like the flowers to speak for themselves. I love to mix lots of different textures with both the flowers and the foliage (I guess that comes from the textile background too). In order to create my natural country style I like to use seasonal flowers and have also created a very large cutting garden next to my studio enabling me to add homegrown flowers to bouquets which helps with the 'wild' look. If I see a bride early enough, they can even specify favourite flowers or colours and I can try and grow them especially for them, weather permitting!!
A love of vintage has meant I have collected a wide range of glass, china and jugs, all of which I love to use for weddings, brides can take their pick.
I love creating beautiful wedding flowers but can also cater for any kind of event and bouquets for all occasions, what with Mother's Day just around the corner..."
http://www.floristintheforest.co.uk/

How gorgeous are these flowers! I especially love the bouquet with the little daisy's in! Fantastic pretty country garden feel ... right up my street and the look I'm going for hopefully for the wedding fair I'm exhibiting at on the 26th Feb in Milton Keynes ... I'll be filling a cream enamel jug with pretty pink flowers.
Anyway hope you all have a lovely weekend ... stay warm!
Nikki

I asked Katherine to tell us a little bit more about herself and what she does ....
"Having done a degree in Textile Design and then a number of years working as a Visual Merchandiser I decided to try my hand in a different creative field. Having always had a love of anything floral I decided it was time for a change and went back to college to re-train in floristry, best move I've ever made.

Alternative Wedding Entertainment & Music Ideas
Today I wanted to share with you a few different and alternative ideas on Wedding Entertainment.
I think many people are stuck in the rut of a traditional wedding breakfast followed by a DJ in the evening, but, especially with the ongoing popularity of more outdoor weddings, these really aren't your only options.
Obviously if thats your thing then fantastic ... I'm all for having the wedding of your dreams, but often the usual DJ just doesn't reflect the couples normal style and sense of self, so I wanted to explore some alternatives.
1. Alternative Music
As I've said having a DJ isn't your only option ... lots of people are now hiring live bands to play at their weddings who have a catalogue of music that is appropriate to their music preferences.
There's definately a wedding band out there for you ... from Rock & Indie to Soul & Mowtown the choices are endless! Just make sure you have seen your choice live before you book them!
If you want something even quirkier how about a string quartet for a classical elegant feel on a summers afternoon? Or for a relaxed festival feel hire an acoustic guitarist and singer for a sing a long around a campfire?
2. Village Fete Games
This is a lovely idea for a Spring or Summer Wedding, and provides the guests with amusement and something to do whilst photos are being taken or reception areas are being turnaround or set up.
If you have the space setting up Coconut Shys, Sack Races, Welly Throwing & Quoits etc can be a great way to keep your guests occupied and create a fantastic relaxed atmosphere! Just remember to have something else planned just in case it rains!
3. Fairground Attractions
Keep your guests entertained with Circus Performers such as Jugglers, Fire Breathers & Acrobats .. great evening entertainment, or hire Tarot readers and Fortune tellers and create a real festival feel!
Also great here is the emerging popularity of Photo Booths ... set up with props ... these are great for guests to much about with and you'll have a hilarious reminder of your evening reception as well as the Day.

Pink & Green 'Ditsy Print' Stationery & Wedding Styling
A start to another busy week here .... several stationery orders to complete for some lovely weddings and lots of preperation to do for the Milton Keynes Vintage Wedding Fair I am exhibiting at on February 26th!
Today I wanted to share with you a bespoke version of my Ditsy Print range which I have recently created for one of my customers. Rather than the standard design which you can see on the website http://www.knotsandkisses.co.uk/ I replaced the small blue floral print with a larger Pink & Lime Green floral print to tie in with the couples wedding.
I think this style of stationery would be perfect for a bright summery English Garden Wedding! I'm thinking picnic baskets, marquees bunting and drinks on the lawn .. its so fresh and breezy it makes feel like its summer even though its so cold outside!
Here are a few of the styling ideas I've come up with to go with this stationery ...
