Hanging Floral Arrangements At Weddings

I'm going to share with you my new obsession today ... and that is Hanging Floral Arrangements at Weddings.
I've often thought that people put so much effort into making their tables look beautiful at their weddings but leave the room or marquee looking quite plain. Obviously the recent trend for bunting has gone some way to rectifying this problem but not all venues or styles of wedding are 'bunting' appropriate . ( Can I just say now that I hate the word appropriate when it comes to Weddings but in this case I think its justified as you might not find bunting gives the look you want for your wedding! )

Instead why not ask your florist to provide hanging floral arrangements for your venue! They can look totally stunning and as glamorous or rustic as you would like. They are also a great DIY option depending on the look you are going for. Here are some option I absolutely love! ....

New Apple Green & White Rustic Wedding Stationery!

I'm quite excited today! Not unusual I hear you cry .. but I do get quite excited about working in the wedding industry and especially designing new stationery.
I've been working on a few ideas lately ... much of which I'm hoping to launch alongside a new website at the end of October ... but I thought I'd give you all the opportunity to have a look at what will be a new range for Knots & Kisses Wedding Stationery before it launches on the website.
Its based around some black and white ink sketches I have done. This first design is a crisp Apple Green & White design wrapped in brown string and with a brown Manila envelope ....

The full range will also include pen & ink drawings of Butterflies, Birds & Trees with dusky pink, mushroom and lemon options for the background colour .. but I'll be revealing these when the range is launched!
For now here are some lovely styling ideas to go with the Apple & White colour way in this range ... all finished of with some lovely rustic browns ....

Friday Supplier Spotlight .... Wonderful Wedding Cakes!

Another lovely supplier on today's supplier spotlight for you to use for your wedding! I came across the lovely Holly and her amazing cake company Mimosa Bakery on Twitter ... and was particularly blown away by the hand painted creations she does.
I think they would be just perfect for someone looking for something that little bit different for their wedding cake.
I'll let Holly tell you a little bit more about what she creates at Mimosa Bakery ...

Here at The Mimosa Bakery I produce beautifully hand made cakes and tasty treats in a variety of shapes and sizes, in my family kitchen in the beautiful town of Stamford, Lincolnshire. All the cakes are made to order and the majority of cakes I supply are bespoke. So whether you are looking for an eye-catching wedding cake, or something more simple but elegant I'm sure I'll be able to help.

I have a background in Art and Design which has helped me in create some beautiful designs, especially when being commissioned to make one of my beautiful hand-painted cakes. There are some amazing prints and illustrations out there begging to be put onto a cake. However, I'm always looking for new innovative ways to express my creativity in the work I do.

The company has really taken off since it started in January of this year and I have worked with some fabulous people and have made some amazing contacts within the wedding industry. I've already been featured in Wedding Magazine as Editor's Choice for my heart cookies, and I'm hoping that once I really get up and running people will be seeing a lot more of my work. There are a lot of very talented and inspirational cake designers out there who do some amazing work. I can only hope to be a good as they are one day!"

Thanks Holly! You can contact Mimosa Bakery through their website http://www.mimosabakery.co.uk/

Perfect Hats and Veils For Your Bridal Look!

I've been inspired today by a friend of mine who had a fabulous wedding a couple of years ago and completed her bridal look with a gorgeous veiled red top hat.
It got me thinking about how amazing brides can look with proper hats, facinators and birdcage veils rather than the traditional veil. Its also perfect to top off a vintage look for your wedding and can look fantastic with either long or short dresses.

Below are some of my favourite options ....

I love this gorgeous flat option, perfect to go with short fifties style dresses .. and how fabulous is the bow design! Both are from http://www.williamchambers.co.uk/

These 4 options from http://www.bhldn.com/ would top off a modern or vintage looking dress perfectly. I love the lace headress! Very Lily Allen!

Finally these stunning options from The Hat Collective available on http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/
I absolutely adore the Peony and Veil option ... with a hat this stunning you can keep your dress simple and perhaps with just a small vintage cardi over the top.

Perfect Vintage Style Bunting And a Fabulous Discount For Your Wedding Day!

I've got some fabulous suppliers lined up over the next few weeks on the Knots & Kisses Supplier Spotlight ... hopefully a few of them will inspire you for your wedding!
The first up this Friday is the fantastic 'Belle And The Bunting'. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a massive fan of bunting and I think its a fabulous way of decorating your wedding in a pretty and relaxed way ... whether you're having a marquee or a village hall. There are so many different types of bunting ... and each can be used to provide a different atmosphere ( honestly it doesn't have to look like your local village fete! Although if that's the look you're going for then hurrah! )

The lovely bunting at Belle And The Bunting has a gorgeous vintage feel .. I especially love the beautiful embroidered one below. (Keep reading as there's a fabulous discount exclusive to Knots & Kisses readers at the end!)
I asked Kerry, who makes all this fabulous bunting, to tell us a little bit more ....

"I’ve always been a crafty sort of person (of the making variety, not the sneaky sort!) and have been thinking of ways I could make it work as my proper job. The bunting hire idea came to me a while ago but it’s only recently I have had the opportunity to act on it. My idea was to make really high quality, beautiful bunting which is available in large quantities (it’s surprising how much room hundreds of meters of bunting takes up)! I know many brides-to-be make it themselves, which is fantastic, I guess my service is there for those who don’t have the time or the sewing machine.

The actual product is made by me at my workshop at home. I use only the best products, from the fabric to the binding, even the thread, there really is no substitute for quality and I think my customers appreciate that. I started by making bunting that pays homage to the idea of vintage, using well known designers such as Cath Kidston, Laura Ashley and Tanya Whelan. However, my new bunting (I’ve called it ‘Betty’) is made entirely from vintage linens, cottons and lace. The majority has been kindly donated by my family; in fact much of the embroidery was made by my Nana-in-law. She was very keen on the thought that something she made would be a part of someone’s wedding day, an event that would be remembered forever, very sweet.

I'm learning so much. I imagined it would all be about the sourcing materials, the making and sewing but it's much more. My customers have been fantastic. It’s such a great feeling when someone ‘gets’ what you do and to know that something you have spent hours and hours making is really appreciated and loved, you can’t ask for anything more.

Prices for hire start at just £1.80 per metre (postage is additional). Customers who book and mention Knots and Kisses will receive a 10% discount with our compliments!"

You can contact Kerry through the website http://www.belleandthebunting.co.uk/

Back Off Holiday!

Hello!
I've just returned from a rather fabulous and sunny week with a group of friends in the South of France. Hope you all enjoyed the blog posts I scheduled whilst I was away!
I'll be spending most of today replying to bucket loads of emails and sorting myself out ... always a little difficult to get back into the swing of things!
But I thought I'd leave you today with a little wedding inspiration from my French Holiday ... I'll probably do some more later in the week.... but all I can think about now is eating cheese in the sunshine!
